Just a Little Post of Gratitude

Just a Little Post of Gratitude

On Wednesday morning, I coached a full Circuit Training Class. The class takes a one minute break after each round. Usually they sit for a second, wipe the sweat from their faces, and rehydrate before the next round begins.

At the second break on Wednesday, which marked the halfway point of the workout, I watched as class regulars Mary and Rob grabbed their water bottles and collapsed on a bench we have in the front of the studio. They grinned at each other, then they each raised their water bottles, and "clinked" them together in a little celebration of victory.

Watching that made me so happy. I even included it in my gratitude journal that evening.

All week I've been trying to make sense of why that simple gesture made such an impact on me.

The word that keeps popping up in my brain is community.

Like Mary and Rob, most of our clients didn't know each other when they first began attending classes or working out with us. But inevitably they ended up greeting each other by name, encouraging each other, and celebrating each other's successes. They talk about their kids and families, and probably complain about me sometimes! (It's all good, I swear!)

Many people feel scared and intimidated when starting a new fitness program. When we opened the Goodwellness studio, we envisioned a place where all people felt welcomed and included, regardless of fitness level.

Just a bunch of people getting healthier and stronger together.

Like a fitness community!

And seeing that vision come to life is just amazing. It's not something you can force, it just happened. And our clients have become the heart and soul of the studio.

Our little community has celebrated many victories in the past year and a half.

Inches lost, body pain reduced, physical goals achieved, and improved numbers on blood tests just to name a few.

Our fitness community is making people's lives better. Thank you so much to everyone taking this journey with us!

I can't wait to see what's next.

Contact me or Jenn if you're interested in joining us! Everyone is welcome!
